Kealakehe College & Career Academy Vision: Thriving, industry-informed programs empowering all graduates to build a resilient, sustainable, and innovative island community.

Kealakehe High School is adopting a Career & Technical Education (CTE) learning model to better prepare their students for high-wage careers. Three academies have been formed to encompass various career pathways: Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM) Academy; Creative Arts & Leadership Academy; and the Sustainable Communities Academy.

In the coming years, students in every academy will be encouraged to participate in work-based learning opportunities with employers, such as job shadowing and internships.

ʻEwalu Industries 501(c)(3) is serving Kealakehe as an intermediary to connect our workplaces with students and facilitate more exposure to career pathways and work-based learning (WBL) opportunities. The Kealakehe ʻŌpio Career Pathways Program assists Kealakehe High School students with WBL opportunities that develop real-world skills through hands-on experience and mentorship.

If you are a community member or employer, please take a few minutes to complete this interest survey, which will provide Kealakehe High School with valuable data on community partners, priority projects, and any challenges workplaces may face in hosting work-based learning opportunities. Survey information will be used to strengthen program design and community relationships.
